Kalamazoo, Mich. – You already know that summer at the Arcadia Festival Place celebrates diversity in Kalamazoo. We have already enjoyed Greek Fest and Island Fest, and this weekend we are excited for the 2010 Black Arts Festival.
The Black Arts Festival is put on by the Black Arts & Cultural Center, they develop tons of community programming celebrating artwork at the Gail Syndor Gallery, Kalamazoo area poets and writers, theater, and other cultural and community programming.
Unlike other festivals, the Black Arts Festival is a weeklong with events including writing workshops and film presentations popping up around the county. The 25th Black Arts Festival at Arcadia Creek will take place from July 29 to Aug. 1. There will be so much to do… I’m going to check it out on Friday for the special admission price in honor of the 25th anniversary, 25 cents (but you really should go all weekend, Saturday promises amazing music with ZAPP) due to my college budget.
