What is “Bring Your Event Home”?
Have you ever thought about bringing an event or convention to your hometown? You’ve probably been to conventions in other cities or perhaps you have traveled to your child’s sports tournament. This is a program for community members who help bring a meeting, conference, convention or event to Kalamazoo County which occupies room nights in our local hotels, motels, and bed & breakfasts. Your group is sure to find the right lodging facility with more than 3,000 rooms available.

Why should I bring a meeting home?
Visitor groups have an enormous impact on Kalamazoo’s economy. Each person attending a convention in Kalamazoo County spends money in local hotels, restaurants, shops, museums and more. Did you know Kalamazoo’s hospitality industry supports over 6,000 jobs?

Why should I submit a referral?
If your referral results in a confirmed event, conference, convention or meeting for
Kalamazoo, you will be eligible for prizes,
including*:
• Gift certificate to a Kalamazoo area restaurant.
• Admission for two to one of our local tourist attractions.
• Tickets for two to a cultural arts event in Kalamazoo.
• Weekend for two at one of Kalamazoo County’s fine lodging facilities.
*Prize level is determined by the economic impact of the event to
Kalamazoo County. All prizes are based upon availability.

What are the qualifications for “Bring Your Event Home”?
Anyone belonging to a group or organization is encouraged to Bring Your Event Home. The event may be on a local, state, regional or national level. Examples of groups holding events include:
• Associations like the Building Owners & Managers Association, American Booksellers
Association.
• Religious meetings, men’s and women’s retreats, youth state conventions.
• Corporate meeting events and conventions like Ford Motor Corporation, Abbott Labs or Harley Davidson.
• Clubs like the Phi Beta Lambda (business club), martial arts club, button collectors and china collectors.
• Military reunions and active military personnel meetings.
• Service/fraternal organizations like the Lions Club, Rotary or Kiwanis.
• Sports events like youth hockey, men’s and women’s softball tournaments, competitive sports events and more.
