ITINERARY 1: MADE IN KALAMAZOO

Day One

AM: Enjoy a guided tour and tasting at the St. Julian Wine Company to see how award-winning wines and juices are produced. Visit Celery Flats Interpretive Center to learn about our Dutch heritage in the celery industry and how it transformed into the bedding plant industry.

PM: Tour the Kalamazoo Valley Museum to learn about other products that have been produced in Kalamazoo, including the Kalamazoo Stove, the Gibson Guitar, the Shakespeare Rod and Reel, Checker Cabs and much more. Overnight in one of Kalamazoo County’s quality hotels or motels.

Day Two

AM: Tour the Gilmore Car Museum to see the only automobiles made in Kalamazoo over the years.

PM: Stroll through one of the nation’s largest greenhouses to learn why we are the bedding plant capital of the USA.

ITINERARY 2: JUST FOR KIDS

Day One

AM: Spend the morning at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum’s Challenger Learning Center to experience a hands-on space mission.

PM: Visit the Air Zoo to learn about our nation’s history in aviation. Be sure to experience the sensation of flight in the simulator. Overnight in one of Kalamazoo County’s quality hotels or motels.

Day Two

AM: This morning wear your hiking shoes while we tour the Kalamazoo Nature Center. After visiting their indoor attractions hit the hiking trails to discover nature in the Kalamazoo area.

PM: Bring your swim suit and your energy to spend the afternoon at Full Blast in Battle Creek

ITINERARY 3: Enjoy Our Good Nature

Day One

AM: Visit the Celery Flats Interpretive Center & Historic Area.

PM: Visit the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary. Tour the Kellogg Dairy Center. Overnight in one of Kalamazoo County ’s quality hotels or motels.

Day Two

AM: Enjoy a guided tour through one of our greenhouses. Visit the Kalamazoo Nature Center. Enjoy the Club Car Restaurant and shop at the Alamo Depot.

PM: Tour and tasting at St. Julian Wine Company. Depart for next destination.

ITINERARY 4: PLANES, TRAINS & AUTOMOBILES

Day One

PM: Enjoy dinner at the Club Car Restaurant and shopping at the Alamo Depot. Overnight in one of Kalamazoo County ’s quality hotels or motels.

Day Two

AM: Visit the Air Zoo.

PM: Tour the Gilmore Car Museum.

ITINERARY 5: TIP TOE THROUGH THE TULIPS

Day One

AM: Arrive in Kalamazoo. Enjoy lunch in one of our restaurants.

PM: Tour one of the largest greenhouses in the nation to see how our flowers are cultivated. Visit Celery Flats Interpretive Center to learn about our Dutch heritage in the celery industry and how it transformed into the bedding plant industry. Travel to Marshall for Cornwell’s dinner theatre at Turkeyville USA. Overnight in one of Kalamazoo County ’s quality hotels or motels.

Day Two

AM: Enjoy breakfast before a busy day at the Holland Tulip Festival.

PM: Return to Kalamazoo for the night.

Day Three

AM: Enjoy a guided tour of Kalamazoo to see the tulips and stop at one of the greenhouses to buy your own bedding plants before going home.

ITINERARY 6:UNDERGROUND RAILROAD TOUR

Day One

AM: Visit the Underground Railroad Museum.

PM: Tour Kalamazoo Valley Museum and enjoy their Underground Railroad and planetarium show “Secrets In The Sky.” Enjoy a guided City Tour with a stop at the Martin Luther King Jr. Sculpture. Plan this tour around our Black Cultural Arts Festival or Island Festival.

ITINERARY 7:CHRISTMAS IN SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN

Day One

AM: Visit a local greenhouse to learn how our poinsettias are grown. Enjoy the Club Car Restaurant, then stroll next door to shop for your special Christmas gifts at the Alamo Depot.

PM: Enjoy a matinee at Miller Auditorium and dinner in one of our fine restaurants. Then travel to Battle Creek for the International Festival of Lights or enjoy a guided tour of the Kalamazoo area’s Holiday decorations. Overnight in one of Kalamazoo County’s quality hotels or motels.

Day Two

AM: Enjoy a ride to Holland and a day of their Dutch Winterfest.
