The historic Kalamazoo State Theatre is West Michigan's premier live
entertainment venue. Built in 1927 as a vaudeville house and decorated
in a Spanish Courtyard theme, the theater's unique atmosphere boasts
a ceiling that imitates the night sky with twinkling stars and moving
clouds. Regularly hosting music and comedy stars, such as B.B. King,
Tim Allen, Ray Charles and Alice Cooper, the State Theatre was also
selected as the site for HBO and Showtime Comedy Specials. Full technical
packages, that include state-of-the-art lighting and sound, are available
for special events and meetings.
