Our Valentine’s Day Top Picks

 

Whether or not you celebrate Valentine’s Day, you can’t deny that the holiday provides some of us in Kalamazoo with an excuse to put our hibernation on hold for the night!

We asked our staff what their Valentine’s Day plans look like, and after adding in a couple other events and activities, we were able to compile a list that offers something for everyone!

W.K. Kellogg Manor House
February 14, 6:30pm

They’ll be serving Chef’s specials along with select favorites from their dinner menu. If you happen to make it in on February 13th instead of Valentine’s Day, attend the FREE wine tasting with Lawton Ridge Winery! While you’re there, make sure to pop into the market to check out all of their baked goods, chocolate treats and more! Reservations for the dinner required.

2015 USA Curling National Championships
February 14-21, Draws on Feb. 14 are at 4:30pm & 8:30pm

The 10 best men’s and women’s curling teams from across the country will descend upon Kalamazoo to compete in round robin play, vying for a spot in the playoffs and the chance to be named National Champion!

Singing Valentine’s
February 13 & 14, 8am-8pm

Again this year, quartets from the Kalamazoo Mall City Harmonizers chorus will be fanning-out all over the greater Kalamazoo community to bring Valentines wishes to people’s love ones…at their home, office, a restaurant, a school, a seniors center…wherever. Four gentlemen, formally dressed in tuxedos, will arrive to sing two love songs and present a red rose and personalized Valentines card.

1964 The Tribute
February 14, 7pm-1am

1964 The Tribute recreates an early ’60′s live Beatles concert, with period instruments, clothing, hairstyles, onstage banter, with an accuracy that is unmatched even til this day. Come see why “1964″…The Tribute is the definitive and most accurate of all the Beatles shows.

Valentine’s Skate Date
Feb 14, 4:30 PM at The Ice Rink

Private skate, live music and dinner on the ice! Bring your partner and/or kids for this unique Valentine experience. Start the evening dining on the ice with a meal catered from Grand Traverse Pie Company, by a server on skates. Following dinner, the rink will be reserved for only those registered for this event and will re-open to the public at 6 pm. Feel free to skate all night as we giveaway prizes throughout the evening.

Bittersweet Hours- Friday 10 a.m.-10:30 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-10:30 p.m.
Timber Ridge Hours- Friday 10am-10pm and Saturday 9am-10pm

Join a Kalamazoo Nature Center Naturalist for this FREE event! Snowshoe the trails of Schrier Park! Nature hike will occur regardless of snow conditions and hiking boots may be worn if preferred.

Saturday 10am-10pm

Climb Kalamazoo is Southwest Michigan’s premier indoor climbing gym with over 10,500 square feet of climbing surface, including a 2500 square foot lead cave.!

Gilmore Car Museum’s 4th annual PINT WITH THE PAST
February 14th, 7pm-10pm

Head out to the Gilmore Car Museum’s 4th annual beer-tasting fundraiser, featuring craft brews, live music, delicious appetizers and your favorite vintage automobiles! Tickets are $40 at the door.
