Kalamazoo, Mich. — “I’ve been wearing this for close to 10 years,” said Rosie Fisher, referring to her hair.

“It’s evolved over time,” she said. “I’m having more fun as I get older — I’m trying to be more relaxed and not take life so seriously.”

Fisher, of Portage, was on her way to Woods Lake beach.

“I love Kalamazoo,” she said. “I have great memories here — Island Festival, Blues Festival. Why travel when there’s so much to do right here?”

People of Kalamazoo is a way to encounter the vibrant, fun and interesting humans who make up this beautiful community. They are both residents and visitors of Kalamazoo, who were discovered while they were simply enjoying our town.
