Kalamazoo, Mich. – Tennis is a big deal in Kalamazoo.

For decades, the USTA Boys’ 18 &16 National Tennis Championships have been held in Kalamazoo. Any guy whose anybody in the U.S. tennis world has been to this Kalamazoo tournament, including Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick, Jimmy Connors, John McEnroe, Michael Chang, Pete Sampras and more.

Matches will be played at Kalamazoo College’s Stowe Stadium, where the college’s men’s team has won 72 MIAA championships and 7DIII NCAA titles. The stadium, built in 1946, is the home to the championship, but games will also be played at Sorensen Courts at WMU.
The opening night exhibition game on Aug. 6 easily is an event highlight. This year, pro Scoville Jenkins will return to Stowe Stadium, where he made history, to face Jan-Michael Gambill.
