Lots of people rely on their handy dandy Yelp! app when they’re traveling somewhere new. Reviews and ratings from multiple people can usually give you an idea of what type of experience you’re bound to have as well. Well, Yelp! has rounded up a list of some of the newest restaurants in Kalamazoo, and we were intrigued.
Check out the top 4 new places to eat in Kalamazoo!
Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza
Having just opened their Kalamazoo location in early September, Blaze Pizza has already built quite a reputation among the community. Priding themselves on their blazing hot stone oven and lightning fast speed, the California-based pizza joint can cook 16 pizzas at a time. Add in the build-you-own pie concept and over 40 different toppings to choose from, many Kalamazoo locals have found their pizza heaven!
Bistro on the Roll
If you’re the “fly by the seat of your pants” kind of foodie, then Bistro on the Roll is your style! Being the quirky community that we are, it was only a matter of time that more food trucks started making appearances here in Kalamazoo! You can find Bistro on the Roll at many local outings, events, festivals and parades. Visit their website for a look at their menu, which offers upscale appetizers, sandwiches, salads and desserts. A Southwest Michigan blogger noted their “San Fran Mac-n-Cheese” Croquettes as sounding way too good to pass up!
The name says it all! Offering an extensive breakfast menu and lunch options as well, East Egg is a local favorite and this particular location is their second and newest establishment. Some of the many highlights of East Egg include bright and sunny atmosphere, perfect to wake you up in the morning, that is, if the Water Street coffee that they serve doesn’t perk you up first! They offer anything from fresh donut holes, to massive pancakes, to eggs benidict and even gluten free options!
The Grind 24 Hour Cafe
Conveniently located near Western Michigan University’s campus, The Grind is a 24 hour coffee shop that also offers teas, espresso, lattes, bakery items, soups, salads and sandwiches. In addition to coffee, they sell local paintings and merchandise and serve as a performance venue. They pride themselves on the quality and freshness of their coffee, brought to you by the Kalamazoo Coffee Company!
Some people are brave enough to be that first customer, or in this case, the first Yelp! review. Could you be next?
