The unique and ever growing sport of pickleball is on the rise across Kalamazoo! For those that aren't familiar with this fast paced game, it's basically a combination of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, which may sound complicated but we promise it's a sport for all ages and experience levels to enjoy.

With the addition of new courts, renovations, and the dedication of the Kalamazoo Pickleball Outreach Club there are many different ways for you to experience pickleball in Greater Kalamazoo!

3. Kalamazoo Pickleball Outreach

Our local pickleball club in Kalamazoo is a diverse group of individuals that all have one thing in common - they love pickleball! If you're interested in giving the sport a try, we encourage you to follow their Facebook page to stay up to date on drop in meet-ups, tournaments, etc.

Did you know that Kalamazoo hosted the USA Pickleball Great Lakes Regional from 2017-2019? This event wouldn't have been possible without Kalamazoo Pickleball Outreach. The club also hosts their Annual Latitude 42 Senior Pro Open and Pickleball Fever In The Zoo Tournament's each summer. This past year the 2022 tournaments brought in an estimated $403,468 in economic impact to the Kalamazoo region.

Fun fact, the Latitude 42 Senior Pro Open was the first Senior Only pro event in the U.S. There are other Senior tournaments that offer cash prizes, but they are in conjunction with the younger Open Pro tournaments.  The Kalamazoo Pickleball Club was the first to offer a senior only Pro event!
