Gilmore Car Museum: The Golden Age of the Sports Car

The Gilmore Car Museum will take guests back in time in this limited engagement exhibition, “The Golden Age of the Sports Car,” featuring some of the most sought after sports cars of the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, including a 1949 MG TD Roadster, a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, a 1961 Maserati 3500 GT, a 1967 Porsche 911, and many more.

Bronco Brewery Tour

In celebration of Western Michigan University‘s homecoming weekend, West Michigan Beer Tours — co-founded by a Bronco — has put together a brewery tour involving brewers with ties to the university. Scheduled for the Friday night prior to WMU’s big football game, the 5-hour tour will start in downtown Kalamazoo and visit three area breweries. There may be a few Brown & Gold surprises worked into the tour as well. Go Broncos!

HopCat Kalamazoo Grand Opening

Southwest Michigan Ballroom Dance

Jean Guild will teach a one-hour lesson in the smooth and sultry Night Club Two-Step at 2:30 p.m. The Night Club Two-Step is easy to learn and is danced to contemporary slow songs. Open dancing with DJ Dan Stratton is from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.  All levels of dancers, beginners, couples and singles welcome.  A free dance lesson will also be raffled.

Stulberg Laureate Richard Narroway And WMU Symphony Orchestra

The Stulberg International String Competition and the WMU School of Music welcome Stulberg Laureate Richard Narroway (cello) back to Kalamazoo for a performance with the University Symphony Orchestra, directed by Professor Bruce Uchimura. The free afternoon program will feature Narroway’s performance of Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme, Op. 33 with the USO. The program also includes Sibelius’ Karelia Overture and Prokofiev’s Suites from “Romeo and Juliet”.
