Description

The Black Arts & Cultural Center develops an array of programing for the community.



Ongoing programs include: Art Exhibitions, BACC hosts the artwork of a different African American artist each month in the Gail Sydnor Gallery.  The artwork is part of the monthly Art Hop.



Black Writers, Programs provide Kalamazoo area poets and writers with opportunities in networking, career development, skill development, education, grants, publishing and the monitoring of youths.  BACC Sponsors readings, workshops, contests and residencies for local writers.



Theatre, The BACC theater program provides opportunities for nonprofessional and beginning students to work with and learn from professionals in all areas of the technical and performing arts fields.



Community Linkage, BACC networks with other community organizations and provides program and artist to promote appreciation of the arts and community interactions.



Yearly Special Events, Black Arts Festival, Kwanzaa, Playwright Contest, Theatre Productions.
