Expand All
Metro, Kalamazoo’s public transportation system, has twenty-one routes within Kalamazoo County. The fixed route bus service is seven days a week traveling through the communities of Kalamazoo, Portage, Oshtemo, Parchment and Comstock.

Taking the bus can seem intimidating but the easiest way to start is by visiting kmetro.com. Here you will find fares, schedules, service days and times, and Metro’s Track My Bus tool used for specific stop time information and trip planning.

Applications to make your ride easier.

The Token Transit app is available for free download. It allows passengers to preload payment with a credit/debit card. Customers can purchase as little as one ride through this application.

MyStop Mobile app features real-time bus tracking that is also available on Metro’s website. Download the MyStop application for free from your device’s app store for the best mobile tool for finding bus stops and times near you.

Fare information.

Cash, bus tokens, multiday passes and Token Transit are accepted forms of payment. Exact fare is needed since change is not provided. Tokens and passes may be purchased at the Kalamazoo Transportation Center at 459 North Burdick. Western Students with a valid student ID can ride all Metro routes for free.

Once you board the bus.

Pay your fare with your choice of payment and request your free transfer if you will be taking more than one bus for your trip. Metro drivers can assist you with wheelchair tie downs and trip questions. When you get near your destination, pull the cord located near your seat, and the driver will know to stop along the route.
