Richland is a small village in Kalamazoo County, located less than 10 miles northeast of downtown Kalamazoo.
The Richland area is known for it’s quaint downtown, as well as an abundance in gorgeous dense forests, winding back roads and quite a few inland lakes! The most notable lake being Gull Lake, which is located mostly in Richland, but also extends to areas of Hickory Corners.
Because of the close proximity between the two, and since most people don’t see county lines when visiting somewhere new, we included places from Hickory Corners in this awesome list!

Outdoor Sports & Activities
Available 7 days a week, rent pontoon boats, Hobie paddle boards and kayaks, tubes, surfboards and wake boards! Choose either a 4 or 8 hour rental, 10:00 am – 7:00 pm. Want to learn to surf? Gull Lake Marine also runs a surf camp! Need to just fill up your tank? Their gas dock is available for all boats to fuel up.

Today, the Gilmore Car Museum is North America’s largest auto museum with nearly 400 vehicles on display and over 189,000 square feet of exhibit space. The Museum’s 90-acre Historic Campus features numerous vintage structures including a restored and fully-functioning 1941 Silk City Diner, a recreated 1930s Shell Station, six onsite Partner Museums, and so much more.
Featured here are fine quality miniatures displayed in a gallery setting in a picturesque white farmhouse. The Museum proudly showcases dozens of fine art displays, featuring the work of hundreds of miniatures artisans.

Dandelion Cafe & Bakery is a farm-to-table breakfast and brunch restaurant located across from Gull Lake and the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary!
Located just off the bay of Gull Lake outside of Richland, Michigan they offer an atmosphere enjoyable for everyone. In the spring and summer months, enjoy the outside deck that offers sunsets and views of beautiful Gull Lake or in colder months enjoy dinner next to their cozy fireplace inside.
