Guest juror is Chicago-based photographer Dawoud Bey, whose work was on view at the KIA this winter. He selected work from hundreds of submissions to be hung in this annual exhibition — which is one example of the KIA’s commitment to supporting the area. More than $6,00- in prizes will be awarded, including a $1,000 grand prize, and a $1,000 prize sponsored by the City of Portage for a Portage-based artist.

The Kalamazoo Ribfest is a three-day, nationally-renowned festival in the heart of downtown Kalamazoo featuring nine national and local rib vendors, along with great entertainment and daily special events. Special events include a Best Ribs in Kalamazoo Competition, Rock Your Vote where the community decides which band will open for the headliners, the Community Advocates’ Marketplace, People’s Choice contest, and Sponsor’s Choice taste contest. WMU’s Office of Development and Alumni Relations proudly presents the second annual Bronco BrewFest, featuring Broncos who are shaping the local and Michigan craft brewing scene. The event will celebrate more than a dozen alumni-owned breweries and offer guests the opportunity to enjoy interactive presentations from industry experts. Each guest will receive a commemorative 2018 edition Bronco BrewFest sampling glass, ten (10) 2 oz. sample pours, all-access to optional special event presentations and demonstrations, live music, and an assortment of heavy pub-style appetizers.
