Social Media Content Creator Intern

Do you have a love for tourism and social media? Have you ever wanted to explore more of Kalamazoo through a new lens? As a Social Media Content Creator Intern, you will explore Kalamazoo’s restaurants, attractions, events, and more while working with the organizations behind the marketing of Downtown Kalamazoo and the surrounding area.

The Kalamazoo Marketing Coalition is a group of marketing professionals who are passionate about promoting Downtown Kalamazoo and Greater Kalamazoo. Made up of members from the City of Kalamazoo, Discover Kalamazoo, Greenleaf Hospitality Group, and Southwest Michigan First, the Kalamazoo Marketing Coalition meets to align marketing needs and goals, discuss cohesive strategies, and connect to ensure unified promotion of attractions and events happening in and around Downtown Kalamazoo.

Social Media Content Creator Interns will work directly with Discover Kalamazoo on behalf of the Kalamazoo Marketing Coalition to create content showcasing attractions, eateries, festivals, events, and more in Kalamazoo to strengthen the connection between local universities and the community. Interns will produce photos and short-form videos, sharing their experiences around Kalamazoo from a student-friendly, authentic perspective.

Social Media Content Creator Interns should have a passion for social media and for showcasing Kalamazoo creatively to peers and visitors alike. Each Intern will work directly with Discover Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County’s Convention and Visitors Bureau, to learn more about marketing in the tourism industry and produce meaningful content for Kalamazoo.

If you enjoy exploring Kalamazoo and have a passion for creating engaging content for your social media followers, this is a great opportunity to combine your interests in a professional setting while gaining experience for your portfolio.

Work Environment:
