Markin Glen Park was originally the estate of Morris Markin, the founder of Checker Motors Corporation of Kalamazoo. Markin Glen officially opened as a county park in 1994. Offering a pristine and premier swimming beach with a natural setting, Prairie View County Park is located on the shores of Gourdneck and Hogsett Lakes.
