September 20, 21 & 22
See nearly 1,800 street rods, muscle cars, custom cars, trucks, and specialty vehicles from all over the Central United States and farther; each manufactured more than 30 years ago at the least. In addition to lots of chrome, beautiful paint, and luxurious interiors, these cars have modern chassis features such as state-of-the-art suspensions, four-wheel disc brakes, along with comfort features like air conditioning, cruise control, tilt steering, exotic stereos, and much much more.
It is an action-packed weekend with a truly unique blend of rods, customs, muscle cars, and specialty vehicles offering something for everyone. Plus, every vehicle entering the event will be eligible for any awards and giveaways presented during the weekend.
If you're not convinced why you should attend this special event, here are five fun facts about the Street Rod Nationals North in Kalamazoo!
1 - This will be the 35th time the NSRA Street Rod Nationals North has been held in Kalamazoo and an all-time high number of participants and spectators are expected this year.
2 - A variety of cars and trucks in attendance ranging in value from $8,000 to $100,000, each with an average of $28,000 per vehicle, worth over $50 million dollars, will be in attendance!
3 - A street rod and a hot rod are not the same! A street rod is a vehicle manufactured prior to 1949 that has been modified for travel on today's highways.
A hot rod would be the same except for a post-1948 vehicle. Most street rods at the show are from the 30s and 40s, but you will see a few from the teens and 20s.
4—The show attracts many cars from Canada every year, and participants come from all over the East Coast to the Midwest.
Returning will be the "Vintage Parts Swap Meet", offering used and/or old original automotive parts for sale from all over North America!
5 - Some members still have and drive the same car they did in high school 40-50 years ago!
